Keith and Vicki Kennedy opened Kennedy’s Automotive Services in 2003 with the goal of going beyond the typical auto repair experience and educating customers regarding their vehicles’ service needs. When you bring your car or truck to us, you’ll see that we readily provide information, answer questions, prioritize necessary auto repairs, and provide auto service alternatives if available. Accessibility and transparency are truly what makes our auto repair shop stand out from the rest.

Keith’s Auto Repair Journey

Before opening his own shop, Keith worked in independent auto repair shops and dealerships, in addition to working at home at night doing auto repairs. He found he was not fulfilled working for others, and he became confident he could provide a superior auto repair experience working in his own shop. After first trying it out with a partner, he and Vicki opened their family’s shop in 2003. Today, Keith has 44 years of auto industry experience, and he is an ASE Master Technician. His areas of expertise include problem-solving, drivability, and electrical repairs, in addition to leading and teaching his team.

  • Dustin Poetzscher – Shop Foreman & Service Manager
    Dustin PoetzscherShop Foreman & Service Manager

    Dustin is a multi-talented ASE Master Technician who has been with us since 2013. He has over 20 years of experience in the auto repair industry and takes great pride in the product our shop puts out. Dustin is always available to customers and employees to make sure the job gets done correctly and any concerns or questions are addressed. Because he is our primary diesel mechanic and our truck customers routinely ask for his guidance when tough decisions need to be made.

    Scott came to Wilmington from the cold of upstate New York just over a year ago. Since his arrival, he has earned the praise of our customers for being more than just a face at the counter. He goes above and beyond all expectations. He has a vast knowledge of the auto repair business and never hesitates to use it. Either when making auto service recommendations or answering a question.


  • Kevin Schmitt – ASE Master Auto Repair Technician

    Kevin is our ASE Master Technician who wants the tough electrical problems. A welcomed arrival two years ago, Kevin has spent hours training on his own to become comfortable with today's complicated automotive computer systems.

    His knowledge of electrical and communication systems saves countless hours of troubleshooting. Being able to read and understand electrical scope patterns is a skill only a small percentage of mechanics possess.


  • Ryan Compton – Auto Repair Technician

    Ryan is our newest arrival, starting in early 2019. He has a strong European and foreign car background and has worked and trained with some of the top auto repair technicians in Wilmington. At our shop, he handles everything from routine automotive services to complicated engine repairs. Very detailed oriented, Ryan’s training helps keep our customers’ vehicles trouble-free and in top shape.
